WorldGate was founded in 1995 to develop and manufacture innovative communication solutions for the 21st century.

WorldGate’s current focus is the development of Ojo Personal Video Phone. Ojo uses the broadband Internet infrastructure to send and receive video calls. The Market
Many vendors have tried – and failed – to market video phones since AT&T (then Bell Telephone) demonstrated the first ‘Picture Phone' at the 1964 New York World's Fair. Despite intense consumer interest in video phones, past efforts have not found critical mass in the marketplace. There are many reasons for this, including:
